Performed hundreds of industrial hygiene assessments in industry for chemical stressors such as organic vapors, metals, and other airborne contaminants, and the physical stressors of heat, noise and microbiological agents. Performed numerous asbestos surveys in a variety of structure types. Served as a materials engineer in support of the Spacelab program. Responsibilities included participation in NASA/Spacelab design, flight and safety reviews, mission specific toxicity and material interface compatibility assessments, and Spacelab environmental control and life support efficiency modeling.Served as a chemist in the Space Station Freedom program, supporting the development of space station environmental control and life support systems.Performed field testing in support of the CDC/FEMA study to determine formaldehyde exposures to occupants of temporary housing units occupied by citizens displaced by hurricane Katrina.
