About Bill Diederich

I am an ambitious and results-driven business executive with a long and successful track record in sales & marketing leadership, and general management experience across industries including: electronics, promotional products, machine tool, pharmaceutical and HVAC. I was blessed to start my career at Lastar, a company with entrepreneurial owners who gave me the opportunity to take on new challenges and lead company functions in customer service, end-user sales, reseller sales, OEM sales, product management, marketing, human resources, and elements of operations. My track record and success in building a high-performing teams ultimately created the opportunity to operate as the President and then Chief Executive Officer at Lastar. My career at Lastar ended on a very high note with the closing of a global strategic partnership with Dell, and the lucrative sale of the company to Legrand. Since selling and departing from Lastar, I have been fortunate to take on senior leadership opportunities leading three other companies, all in disparate industries. My skills and experiences include sales & marketing strategy and planning, organizational design & talent development, financial analysis & planning, product management & new product development, and operational constraints analysis & process improvement. I am highly proficient in creating and aligning teams of people around a company mission and vision, skilled at getting the associates to operate consistently within the value system of the company, and to driving exceptional levels of customer loyalty and profitable growth for the owners. I can now effectively use my hands-on executive experiences as well as my decade long participation in the 10XCEO Peer Board, to guide new businesses. I also now have experience running business that are privately held, as well as those owned by private equity or venture type backers. I am looking for a new opportunity to add value leading a small to mid-size company, or advising owner/operators of such companies. I seek an ownership team that align with my value system who can benefit from my counsel on how they can engineer a successful economic outcome for themselves which is satisfying and which preserves their legacy.

Aeroseal is a venture-backed cleantech company increasing building efficiency by reducing energy losses from air leaks in the duct systems and building envelopes. Aeroseal uses their patented technology to aerosolize and distribute sealant which effectively solves leakage problems. Aeroseal manufactures and sells the equipment and licenses the technology to residential and commercial contractors across North America and around the world. Aeroseal solutions reduce carbon emissions by increasing energy efficiency, increasing comfort and creating cleaner, healthier conditioned air for building occupants.Hired to lead a capable but over-stretched Residential Business Unit that supports the existing dealer base and trains new dealers everything they need to know to be successful with practice. The COVID pandemic hit the month that I started, and with travel locked down we were forced to quickly shift our field-based training model to a completely virtual model. I also took on leadership of the Technical Support function which provided our dealer technical staff support while they were on job sites, and provided repair, upgrade and refurbishment services on the dealer’s equipment. Major accomplishments included: 1. Built Aeroseal University based on the Docebo learning management system to teach dealers across multiple business models everything they needed to know about selling Aeroseal.2. Centralized our legacy field-based technical training model around a new Miamisburg Training Center with improved effectiveness and 4-5x gain in efficiency.3. Built video training and executed by far the largest volume of new dealer trainings and dealer upgrades to the new HSC4 platform. 4. Systematized dealer support functions to improve ability of Tech Support Team to quickly identify and solve dealer equipment, and to reduce the percentage of time dealers needed to send equipment in for repair to the service depot.
