My vision is that ANYONE can learn to invest and become financially independent. This not-for-profit venture is all about investor education.With future governments unlikely to have the capacity to provide pensions for any but the extremely needy, Australians must take responsibility for their own financial affairs.This means that all Australians need to understand the investment process and take action to become financially independent. The independent Investor aims to provide the needed information and promote financial independence through well developed low cost education courses and free educational videos and other resource material.Relevant experience and expertise.I am an experienced investor and a member of the Australian Investors Association and the Australian Shareholders Association. I was a member of the board of directors of the Australian Investors Association from 2008 to 2012. I was instrumental in developing investment education programs for that Association and Chaired the Education and Research Committee for 3 years.I have presented investment courses for the Australian Investors Association in all mainland states over the past four years. More recently I have presented similar courses for the Australian Shareholders Association and other community groups. These include introductory and intermediate courses on investing in the stock market.My course on an Introduction to the Stock market is recorded on DVD and is marketed by the AIA as part of their investment education program.
