Bill Drakeley is principal and founder of Drakeley Pool Company, a design/build firm, and Drakeley Industries, a consulting firm focusing on shotcrete applications and techniques. Bill is a third generation watershaper and pool builder. He is a Platinum SWD (Society of Watershape Designers) and Advisory Council Member of the Genesis 3 Design Group. This group is a collaboration with the intent of promoting the highest standards in watershaping.In addition to Genesis 3, Bill has been approved by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) as a Certified Examiner for the shotcrete process – the first individual from the pool industry to reach this status. He is also first and only pool builder to sit as a voting member of the ACI Shotcrete Committee 506. The ACI has licensed Bill as a Certified Nozzleman regarding the shotcrete process. As an expert in these applications, he continuously teaches and instructs at such venues as the prestigious Genesis 3 Construction School, International World of Concrete, American Shotcrete Association, Aqua Show and local building and health departments. Bill is a technical writer for Shotcrete Magazine, Watershapes Magazine, Aqua Magazine, and Pool and Spa Magazine. His teachings have been featured in numerous trade publications.The Drakeley product ranges from consulting to design to building of concrete water vessels and pools. The construction company builds large commercial competition venues, small interactive water features, and everything in between. The shotcrete applications also delve into foundation, ground support and soil nailing, etc.The good work has not gone unnoticed.
