I have forty-four years of leadership experience serving healthcare clients through Project Management, Architecture and Construction industries. I began my career as an intern architect in a small, general practice firm. But by luck and a desire for a challenging professional career, I was assigned to two health care projects that would launch me into a career dedicated to serving the facility needs of healthcare clients. Eventually I grew into leadership positions working directly with the leader of the healthcare team. Projects have ranged from small clinics to advanced medical centers of 500,000 square feet and over $150,000,000 in project cost. In total I have been responsible for delivering over 1,000,000 square feet of complex, multi-use and technically sophisticated buildings to demanding, industry leading clients with combined total project value of over $4.5 billion. Early in my career I was assigned the leadership role to determine the master schedule for the development of a new 15,000 student university with a budget of $3.2 billion. I was the Vice President for Business Development at a leading healthcare architectural firm and lead the effort to expand to a firm with national impact while based from a single office in Houston.I have provided leadership on projects for nationally recognized general contractors and professional project management firms. I have served on the board of directors of a long term acute care hospital and several, professional, l civic and cultural entities including the Academy of Architecture for Health (AIA). I am a two time recipient of the Armand J. Burgun Graduate Fellowship. I am currently a Visiting Research Scholar at Texas A & M University, School of Architecture. I have presented by request the findings of original research and other healthcare facility design features at local and national conferences. I have authored several technical/professional articles for healthcare related journals and magazines.
