About Bill Eisele

Hi there - and thanks for stopping by! I really love the transportation industry, and I've been blessed to play in it for over 30 years! I'm a recognized expert in the areas of mobility analysis, freight mobility, urban freight transportation, performance measurement and access management, and I've performed research for a variety of public-agency and industry sponsors. For nearly 30 years, I've been taking on increasing responsibilities at TTI. I currently serve as Associate Agency Director and Research Group Lead of TTI's Planning Group. In this role, I oversee five growing Divisions at TTI - Mobility; Data Science and Visualization; Policy Analysis; Freight and Trade; and Metropolitan and Statewide Planning. TTI's Planning Group is full of multi-talented professionals bridging the gap between theory and practice. We engage in pioneering research and create reliable tools and techniques for improved decision-making on the multimodal transportation system for the benefit of all system users. These teams thoroughly enjoy providing practical analyses and transportation solutions to our numerous sponsors in the public and private sectors! In addition to my administrative role, I currently lead a multi-year interagency sponsored by the Texas DOT Freight Planning Branch where our team provides technical assistance on several tasks all with the goal of improving freight movement throughout the great State of Texas. I also serve as a co-author on TTI's Urban Mobility Report, which provides mobility statistics and trends for metropolitan areas throughout the US. I recently led a pooled fund study of 18 state departments of transportation, Washington D.C. DOT and the Federal Highway Administration on the topic of urban mobility. I have been active with the Transportation Research Board (TRB) throughout my career, and I currently serve as Chair of the Freight Systems Group providing leadership on the Technical Advisory council for eight Freight Systems Group Committees. I previously served as Chair of the Urban Freight Transportation Committee for two terms. I'm a registered professional engineer in Texas and Michigan, and a certified Project Management Professional. I serve on the Graduate Faculty of Texas A&M University, and I am an Instructional Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning (LAUP) where I teach a hands-on capstone transportation studio course. I was honored with the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) Regents Fellow Service Award in 2022-2023 - the highest honor bestowed by TAMUS.

Listed skills include Transportation Planning, Transportation Engineering, Data Analysis, Project Planning, and 16 others.
