I have mentored about 200 small Businesses which include manufacturing companies including automotive suppliers, software houses, high-tech companies, E-retailing, Environmental & energy companies, consultancies, Arts Organisations and TV stations. I have mentored about 100 of the above businesses which are "Start-Ups'" which include products and services where I help in defining their product/service concepts', commercialisation, introducing them to "Venture Capital" organisations and I do "Business Plans" to enable them to get money from Venture Capitalists and government bodies.

I work in Strategy, Productivity Improvement, Profit Improvement, Industrial Market Research & ERP/CAD/CAM/Automation.I have consulted to Jobbing, Batch Manufacturing Companies, Flow-Line and Process manufacturing companies.My experience includes working in metal-trade companies as well as Process Companies

I was a lecturer in Operations & Quality Management in the Department of Management. I gave the second year subject of Quality Management in the Bachelor of Business where I lectured to about 300 undergraduates for a 2 hour session. I also lectured in the Master of Business where I gave the manufacturing subject. Finally, in both 1994 & 1995 I took about 25 post-graduate students from about 5 Australian universities, including Monash students, to Asia for 3 weeks to observe the top Asian manufacturing and Service companies,

The Tasmanian Development Authority (TDA) asked me to turnaround a large jobbing Fabrication and Boiler-Making operation which had been involved in a failed Management Buyout and TDA had put in $5m of funds and looked for a return. The company was located on 8 acres of land and had two factories on the site. The management team had double mortgaged the buyout. The operation was losing money and I measured the productivity level which was very low. I also did a marketing survey around Australia and found that there was very little demand for the operations products. I recommended that the owners close the boiler-making factory and sell about half the land. The company previously had been a multi-national subsidiary and the owners had seen a collapse in demand and had organised a buyout to rid themselves of the money-losing operation. Finally, there were about 100 employees.

I was in the Melbourne Office as the manufacturing consultant. and I worked on assignments in Papua New Guinea with Steamships where I worked on a warehouse management system and Bougainville Copper Mine where i specified the IT maintenance systems for the site.

I was responsible for producing about 35 trucks per Day from 2 Tons to 30Tons on two Production Paced Lines with about 600 direct workers..This plant had its own Press Shop/toolroom with 600ton presses, paint shop, Cab Fabrication & engine trim and CabTrim shop..

I was the works manager for an engineering company making equipment for Paper Manufacturers. There was a machine shop and an assembly operation and the mode of manufacture was batch manufacturing.
