I am a Professional Engineer with degrees in Mechanical/Production Engineering plus a MBA from MBS. I have worked as an Engineer, Operations/General Manager, Manufacturing Consultant, Academic and a Business Mentor. I have worked accross the spectrum of Manufacturing Industry. I have managed Job Shops, Batch Manufacturing and Flow-Line Operations, including Australia's biggest Truck Plant. I have kept upto-date with trips to top Asian/European Manufacturing companies. I have written & published more than 25 papers on manufacturing, strategy & ERP. I was a judge for manufacturing companies on the Mornington Peninsula's 2013 Business Excellence Awards. I also was a Panel discussion member @ the 2103 Manufacturing Exhibition in April in Melbourne. Latterly, I have been working as a small business mentor to over 200 small companies in both the manufacturing & service industries. About 100 of them have been start-ups in the areas of manufacturing, technology, IT and services.I published three papers recently: 1.Entrepreneurs and Start-Ups, New Engineer Journal, Vol.17, No.1, May 2014; 2.Manufacturing in the post GFC world, New Engineering Journal, Vol.14, No.1, May 2011; 3. Australian Manufacturing Industry Regeneration through Innovation, New Engineer Journal, Vol.13, No.1. May 2010. I am giving a lecture on the "Start-Up Process" on the 12th June 2018 @ the MBS Start-Up Chapter seminar which is based on my experience of mentoring > 200 start-ups from products to services.
