About Bill Finlayson

Bill Finlayson maintains an active research programme, with interests in the the archaeology of hunter-gatherers, the development of food production, and the social changes related to this transition. he also works in the cultural heritage management, in site protection and presentation as well as in the engagement of local communities with their heritage. He was the CBRL's Director and CEO from 1999 until 2018, having previously managed the University of Edinburgh's applied archaeology research section. He is a Visiting Professor in the School of Human and Environmental Science at the University of Reading.
