The group creates best practices for data-driven projects including infrastructure, data management and measurement. A scalable model model for implementing AI-based projects leveraging core in-house talent as well as strategic partnerships.

Work with the Lean Product Development and UX CoE teams, to identify and incubate new capabilities that target critical customer pain points that have commercial potential. With a small team, develop proofs-of-concept to demonstrate the application of advanced technologies in NLP, machine learning and semantic search to solve these problems. Drive an applied research engineering approach with an emphasis on research that targets a customer problem and has a path to a supportable production capability technically and economically. Identify strategic technology partners to enhance the technology capabilities platform that enable the vision of the business. Communicate the role and the reality of advanced technologies to internal stakeholders from global CEOs to technology line staff to demonstrate pragmatic approaches to adoption to support new value creation.Two key capabilities have been developed and widely adopted. A SaaS-based capability for cost-effective and extensible applications of NLP that integrate proprietary, open source and third-party solutions under a single service that is configurable and extensible. To compliment and leverage the rich information created through this service, complimentary services and libraries enable the core search capabilities to leverage information extracted to enable semantic search and analytics.

Drove the roadmap for value-creating capabilities for adoption of new technologies, architectures and standards that enable the company to meet strategic business goals, decreasing time-to-market for products and features while reducing costs. Improved development and product agility, updating existing service models used within the enterprise products to simplify the service stack using REST and SOAP. Designed a standards-based model for information and content used throughout the platform with flexibility and extensibility.

Chief architect and technical owner of the next generation Factiva platform services used to create new products as well advanced the state-of-the-art of the existing product portfolio leveraging 3rd party vendors, open source and proprietary algorithm development. Chief architect and technical owner of the next generation search platform for Factiva. The search service was re-platformed search while seamlessly supporting $300M+ in revenue while launching a new end-user search product. Delivered the next generation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning platform used for automated content enrichment and information extraction in 24 languages. Created a data mining capability to create new structured data assets for business information applications. Delivered a multilingual solution for semantic clustering using machine learning of results and alerts at the point of delivery to resolve a long-standing customer issue with noise from duplicates.

Lead technical team in development of Battlefield Planning and Visualization (BPV) software through analysis, design and implementation of new components, algorithms and data visualization to enhance the battlefield digital planning process through the development of user workflow enhancements and algorithm development for situational awareness. Supported users and gathered feedback through contextual inquiry during Advanced War Experiments (AWEs) conducted by the 4th ID at Fort Hood .

Principal Investigator for three Phase II SBIR projects. Responsible for managing the technical development, supervising staff, and developing a business plan for commercialization of the new technologies. As part of this work served as lead developer and advisor in a partnership with FLUENT, a leading commercial CFD software vendor.
