Clear Thinking Consultancy is a dynamic organisational development consultancy that supports small and medium sized voluntary sector organisations to become more financially sustainable and maximise their impact. We also work with funders to ensure that their money goes to the places that need it the most.

Alongside my part-time role with Clear Thinking Consultancy, I also work independently and as an associate on consultancy projects supporting charities and community organisations to work with passion, purpose and focus.

Leading the team providing high-quality services to support the needs and aspirations of musicians, both working and retired. The directorate’s services and programmes covered career and business skills development, health and welfare and research.

Strategic leadership of the national membership association for providers of community transport. Over my first three years I led a major strategic turnaround, transforming its strategy, culture, finances, workplaces, relationships and team. The result of this was improved feedback from members and other stakeholders about CTA’s performance, more expansive and diverse partnerships, growing membership and income from government departments and organisations that bought our services.

Designing and delivering capacity building programmes and consultancy for charities and the local public sector, including training and networking events and major conferences. Also leading income generation activities - major funding bids, consultancy contracts and cultivating sponsorship and revenue-share relationships with businesses.

Strategic and operational leadership of the national membership association for patient and professional bodies working on arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Initially recruited as an Interim Director I led a strategic review and introduced a new programme to establish local branches, alongside fulfilling the organisations existing public affairs activity and programmes.

Strategic and operational leadership of a forum for discussing and developing ideas about the future of trades’ unions and employee relations.

Strategic and operational leadership of a youth-led charity involving and supporting young people to influence policies affecting their lives.

Providing advice and support to officers and staff in students’ unions and supporting members of the national executive to successfully fulfil their roles, with a focus on further education and governance.
