December 1996 - February 1997I exposed a multi-million international fraud and money laundering scam in which organised criminals created a chain of ‘fake’ reinsurance companies to defraud Lloyds and big city insurers. I was responsible for leading the investigation and advised producers and camera crews on filming.Undercover Britain, CH4, Clark Television, August 1994 - October 1994I identified and secretly filmed a factory illegally employing children, including a 12 year old operating dangerous machinery, making products for Morrison’s supermarket. The factory was subsequently prosecuted and closed. I tracked down and filmed interviews with children who had been exploited by employers while working under-age.Undercover Britain, CH4, IPTV Edinburgh, November 1993 - February 1994 I was selected by investigative journalist Duncan Campbell, to research a film exposing quack doctors and practitioners selling dangerous remedies to patients with HIV, including a fake vicar selling bleach as an HIV cure, and a Harley Street doctor who was a convicted fraudster with a string of bogus qualifications. The film led to dangerous products being withdrawn from sale and a doctor being struck off the medical register. I presented the film at a European television conference where it was highly praised.Big Story, ITV, 20/20 television, October 1993.I researched an investigative film based on a story I developed at the Engineer Magazine. It showed that two British executives had been wrongly accused and imprisoned for exporting nuclear triggers to Iraq at the height of the arms to Iraq scandal. I worked as a researcher on a follow-up film for 3D on ITV which identified the British companies that had exported dual use arms equipment to Iraqi nuclear sites.

I wrote and researched news and features for a variety of business and financial magazines and Sunday papers.

I devised and taught an investigative journalism course for MA students and later became an external examiner for the journalism department.

I specialised in off-diary and investigative stories in business and technology. Winner of two industry awards.
