Led multi-disciplinary engineering department of electrical, software, RTL and mechanical engineers for all hardware development for Surgical Solutions division. Created strategic roadmap setting direction for hardware and software products / technologies. Created research and technology development groups providing foundation of all hardware development. Developed key external relationships with engineering development partners local and offshore.

Led multi-disciplinary engineering department of electrical, software, RTL and mechanical engineers for all hardware development for the Energy-based Devices business unit. This included release of the Covidien flagship electrosurgery platform, the ForceTriad Energy System, and two ablation systems including the first FDA approved microwave system. Performed resource planning and budgetary responsibility. Championed and created System Engineering structure and processes to improve the quality of system performance, improve accuracy of timelines and reduce redundancy of effort across teams.

Led multi-disciplinary engineering group of 10 engineers to develop ultrasonics and RF based electrosurgical systems, including electrical and software development. Developed microprocessor-based controller for “next generation” products.

Managed software engineering group of 4 software engineers for all software development for business unit. Responsible for resource and budget planning and for group and served as project leader for Vesta System generator, PMA Class 3 device.

Supported manufacturing of all Valleylab (Covidien) Electrosurgical Generators including project/technical leader Force EZ generator project and Force 40 ESU redesign project.

Project/technical leader for all Fischer Imaging Mammography products.

Provided Manufacturing support for all Fischer Mammography systems, High Voltage X-ray generators, biopsy needle positioning systems and Electro-physiology products.

Project/technical leader responsible for all phases of design and development of mini-computer and PC based automated test systems used for production testing of components for nuclear weapons. Responsible for 35 test systems.
