After leaving school, I became an apprentice at Scotland’s only surviving independent mining and land surveyors and juggled day release learning and on site works to complete a buildings surveyors course at the local college. This is when I became interested in restoring old sandstone buildings in Scotland.Once I had relocated to London, I joined Smallbone of Devizes and had a fantastic experience whilst also learned a little about cabinet making. The parties were memorable, then the management consultants arrived ….It was a great time to set up Bascomb & Drew with Andy Dean and 25 years later we are still having a thoroughly enjoyable time.
