I was responsible for the entire operational and strategic functions of the human resources department.

I oversaw the recruitment and selection function as well as consult with leadership regarding employee relations issues. I provided support to the overall business strategy and assisted the business in growth through its employees and recruitment and selection initiatives. Furthermore, I oversaw and initiated processes that developed and enhanced our talent and evolved Volunteers of America's future leaders. In addition, I collaborated with leaders and employees to define and resolve existing and potential employee relation issues.

My primary role was the creation and implementation of the talent management infrastructure, framework, and strategies to support the organization. I managed the recruitment, assessment and development of employees through the execution of initiatives and programs. I identified and recommended opportunities to improve and align supporting systems and created and implemented an integrated approach to talent management. I also worked with the management team to help them assess talent and support strategy execution.

In this role I performed a variety of human resources functions for companies in several industries. My primary focus was to provide leadership and content expertise in the recruitment function, focusing on delivering quality candidates. I managed the search process from sourcing through final candidate selection and ensured correct and timely documentation. I also developed strong relationships with internal customers, executives and stakeholders in the recruitment process. I developed a strong network of external sources that increased quality applicant flow and delivered the staffing results

I began as a Center Director and became a Regional Director after three months. I prepared and delivered dozens of presentations to district offices and high school staff for business development purposes. I also managed the faculty and instructors to ensure proper coverage and engagement in classroom sessions for students. As a Center Director my duties were more operational in scope. I managed the business to key performance metrics and my team and I achieved or exceeded all revenue goals.

I took over as HR Manager of a store in a dire employee engagement situation. I worked with our management team to resolve the issues we were facing and helped to turn things around. I was also responsible for the creation and implementation of recruitment, hiring and training programs.I presided over safety meetings and focus groups to ensure that company standards were communicated and the open door policy was being followed. I also ensured the proper execution of all employee performance and development discussions.

I held two main roles with Lands' End. The first was as Senior Store Manager for over nine years. In that role I was a key resource for the retail division in the areas of recruitment, learning and development and training. I was also in charge of my own store operations in which our annual sales per square foot were #1 in the company. After transitioning to National Sales, I prepared and delivered presentations to director and senior level clients at large companies across the United States. I established new clients through various prospecting methods and achieved over 127% of prospecting metrics. I also directed cross-functional areas of merchandising, creative and inventory in order to successfully land and launch four new national accounts in my first year.

I was responsible for the recruitment and training of all new hires in addition to actively participating in the payroll and scheduling functions. I organized recruitment fairs which resulted in exceeding the holiday hiring goals for the Minneapolis flagship store. I also facilitated all new hire and existing employee training programs at the Rosedale location.
