• Led the optimized regeneration interval process improvement project, resulting in a robust process for DPF regeneration interval optimization, incorporating CAE, advanced regression modeling, and thorough validation through test and simulation. This was a key enabler for avoiding the addition of a larger DPF with large year upon year cost savings.• Developed tools necessary to supplement and improve the performance development process, including a multi-cycle optimization tool, which is key to the optimized regeneration interval process, a map gradient checking tool, and a gradient optimization tool.• Actively participated in altitude calibration strategy process development, including interacting with the regulatory groups, and over-seas counterparts to gain approval for the proposed strategy. Co-developed and submitted a patent on a new altitude compensation strategy to ensure minimal soot increase as a function of altitude, as well as consistent power for maximized productivity.• Led a cross-functional, cross-division team to clearly define key roles and responsibilities associated with performance development. • Led performance and emissions development team for C7.1 Tier 4i engine development program, including engine rating development, process improvement, coaching, and program planning and resourcing. • Functioned as main point of contact for all technical issues relating to the C7.1 performance and emissions, and as the primary communicator for the C7.1 performance development program to the rest of the business, including senior management.• Led, or instigated, as a subject matter expert, multiple product improvement and project readiness projects to improve product robustness, to improve variability, and to improve facilities and internal supplier readiness, prior to the first rating development.

• Led advanced techology engine calibration demonstration program focused on low soot combustion optimization for minimal particulate based aftertreatment• Demonstrated low soot combustion utilizing optimized combustion chamber geometries, air systems including VGT and wastegate, EGR and multi-shot fuel injection with advanced acceleration strategies at multiple target NOx levels across NRTC and RMC / 8-mode C1 cycles• Led team to demonstrate benefits of ultra high injection pressure including investigation of ultra-low NOx levels, standard diffusion combustion, lifted flame combustion, diesel HCCI combustion, multi-shot advanced combustion on a single cylinder research engine, multi-cylinder mid-range C9, and multi-cylinder heavy duty C15• Acted as primary engineer for TACOM funded High Speed Diesel Program.
