Prior to this, Bill worked as an independent consultant, developing technology and media solutions in the areas of museums, academia, and commercial product development. He holds a patent for a dynamically-tunable Internet navigation system and data visualization tool.Current focus areas include serious games and simulations, AR and VR applications, non-gaming applications for gaming technologies, pushing the boundaries of immersive storytelling, and venturing into the Metaverse.Current research efforts involve adapting open-source intelligence and link analysis technologies for use in the humanities, with emphasis on exploration of archival records and data repositories.
