For 25 years, I have helped organizations define and communicate their brand. A breakthrough came in 2006 when we stopped measuring satisfaction and began to strive for indispensability. The most successful stopped asking “what do we do? but asked, “What should we be?” to make their mission come to life. I also found out many companies fire those innovators they needed the most, usually because of politically-obstructive cultures. This became the basis for our book,"The Disposable Visionary-a survival guide for change agents." Today, I'm honored to work with passionate servant leaders who put their mission before personal goals or agendas. They focus on making others successful and continually ask, “What is the ultimate fulfillment of our mission? The group comprises the leadership, staff and faculty of Christian Academy of Louisville. With 4 campuses, it has become the country's largest Christian school system, praised as “The best Christian School in the nation” by the founder of the Assoc. of Christian Schoolsl International. Like many private schools, it has outstanding academics. But imagine students with a vision to raise $40,000 to build an orphanage in India. Imagine talent earning 3 of 8 art scholarships awarded nationally. Imagine elementary musicians performing on television, but said the real highlight of the day was playing at a nursing home. Imagine championship athletes who see their true record in how many opposing teams prayed with them. This is education transforming hearts and minds. I was hired as Marketing Director but my real role is Chief Storyteller, sharing what happens when people follow a vision to do what it takes to develop God-given spiritual, academic, artistic and athletic talent. At Christian Academy, passion starts at the top and is caught by the students. It is a joy to tell stories of God leading these students to transform themselves, their school and the world.
