Head of WW R&D for ProCurve Networking. Led the ProCurve R&D organization through rapid organic growth to achieve #2 market position in Ethernet switching. Led development of ASICs, Hardware, Firmware, and Management software for Wired Ethernet switches, Wireless LAN, and Security solutions across 6 different development centers. Expanded the product line capabilities from mid-market to enterprise. Added solutions addressing security, mobility, and data center requirements.

Managed the team responsible for the creation and testing of switch software and network management for the ProCurve product line. Drove implementation of layer 3 features expanding available market from edge to core. Accelerated time to market through engagement of partners for development and test.

Deployed resources to focus on incentives for growth and performance of key distributors. Led collaboration with regional marketing centers, leading to the creation of a WW tactical marketing plan (web site development, distribution, direct-mail/e-commerce, small business solutions, value-added resellers, and end user promotions). Lead the creation of a reseller Platinum Program, a telesales support team, and a catalog support infrastructure. Led the expansion and promotion of a Network Design Center, created to drive field optimization and customer satisfaction. Selected to participate in HP’s Advanced Leadership Development Program.

Led cross-functional product management team to the timely introduction the organizations internally developed switch products. Led activities driving software plan of record and assisted marketing in messaging and field product launch activities. Managed budget, staffing requirements, and integration with network management platform. Drove product schedule, user interface requirements, competitive positioning, and beta sites. Assisted marketing in managing the creation and logistics of a 45-city seminar targeted at technical channel partners and end users supporting HP's entry into the switch market.

Deployed the organization's first channel focused advertising. Assisted in launch activities and promotions for key Distributors (Tech Data, Ingram, Synnex). Led the PR POR and executive engagements. Worked with MARCOM on coordinated outbound plans and leveraged sales tools. Provided leadership for channel marketing product introduction planning and tactics. Created the channel programs and promotions POR. Became the 1st organization in HP to deploy reseller cash incentives. Managed the development of sales training tools and the deployment of sales training activities (teleclasses, networking boot camps). Drove the creation of processes to optimize WW communication and MARCOM integration.

Responsible for the western sales region and three largest distributor accounts. Drove the adoption of the Networking and JetDirect product lines into the field and channel. While in this role, the west region was the top performer. Developed sales tools supporting HP’s CIM platform. Drove participation in manufacturing user group events. Integrated networking into HP’s target vertical markets. Conducted key customer visits and provided technical support to trade shows.

Drove the definition, design, implementation, documentation, and testing of networking software. Embedded C code within a large complex system with no customer quality issues. Target platforms included embedded firmware on a networking card and systems software on HP-UX. Key liaison to other divisions, standards bodies, and systems architecture team. Led activities that promoted tools enforcing structured design techniques.
