I managed the day to day operations of all imports from China (ocean and air) as well as negotiating freight rates for outbound transport and freight forwarding companies for ocean import requirements. Accomplishments: Oversaw multiple warehouses in parallel during the expansion of our main warehouse in 2008.In 2010 I implemented the company's first warehouse management system. As one of the project managers I was responsible for system design and implementation. Implementation of the WMS allowed us to cut our inventory days from 2.5 to 1.5 and reduce staffing costs.Other duties and responsibilities include:Managing departmental budgets, customer service on all shipping issues, co-ordinating shipping of goods to and from trade shows, ensuring all equipment meets ministry safety guidelines, hiring and dismissing warehouse staff both full time and temporary. Managed all freight payables to ensure billing accuracy and timely payment. Order entry and invoicing as required. Maintain product database including creation of new products.
