About Bill Koslosky, Md

My Value Proposition Is Explaining My Client's Value PropositionMy skill as a medical writer comes from my intense curiosity, and need to understand my writing subjects in a very detailed way. I enjoy unraveling, and then explaining and illustrating with memorable text, my client's product or service so that it becomes a most compelling message.Memorable ProjectSometimes the most challenging projects are when an agency brings me in because a client has rejected their submission, but still demands the same, tight deadline. I find that most often the trick is finding the right clinical/lay terminology that best expresses the client's need, after a quick interview. My most memorable, challenging and successful project was the time I was brought in by a branding agency in NYC. Their client was a laboratory equipment supply company that had just bought several smaller companies ranging from DNA analysis with polymerase chain reaction to biotech pilot plants producing large quantities of cloned materials. The VP wanted a brochure announcing these purchases, to be delivered when he came back from a week in the Bahamas., out of touch till then. The challenge was setting up interviews with the scientists/managers who were uncertain how these takeovers would affect their positions. I thoroughly research their technologies before phoning. As it turned out, I sense each participant was eager to highlight their expertise and explain the value they brought to their work. Upbeat stories--brochure done--problem solved.Present FocusFortunately, medical technology is increasing in development. I find that when I talk with clinician/researchers, they're enthusiastic with the prospects of their discoveries. An orthopedic surgeon recently called me and we spoke for 45 minutes about his use of percutaneous cryoneurolysis in prophylactic pain management for knee surgery. It's this enthusiasm that I include in my stories about new technology that gets peoples' attention. It's a journey to a place with better options for patients fraught with pain or uncertainty about the future of a chronic disease.
