Experienced project leader and synthetic organic chemist with a passion for developing novel small molecules. During my 18+ year career in pharmaceutical and agrochemical R&D, I have led several lead generation and lead optimization teams developing small molecules for use in human health and crop protection. I remain active at the bench, leveraging my expertise in chemical synthesis while broadening my knowledge in other scientific disciplines, gaining valuable experience in leading teams, developing expertise with cheminformatics tools, and communicating with stakeholders. I immensely enjoy the cheminformatics and communication aspects of these roles and telling compelling stories with insightful data visualizations (empowered by software tools such as TIBCO Spotfire) has become a defining feature of my leadership style.In connection with my passion for data visualization, I have developed many project data dashboards using TIBCO Spotfire software with the goal of empowering scientists to seamlessly filter, visualize, and drill down into their data. I believe that such data management tools are critical to effective communication, and they enable better decision-making within project teams. I have extensively mentored fellow scientists in the use of such tools, and have held hands-on workshops to foster learning as well.
