CurrentAs a member of the Board of Directors and a Partner at Mithun, Bill LaPatra, AIA, leads an interdisciplinary practice of architects, urban designers, interior designers and landscape architects. With more than 30 years of professional service in the private and public sector, he is an expert in the design of complex urban sites. His work as an urban designer includes the Westlake Avenue Master Plan, the Stadium Center Neighborhood Conceptual Design and a Master Plan for Transit Development Sites for the City of Bellevue, WA. His architectural projects include; Harley Marine Headquarters in Seattle; Terry Lander Residence Hall at the University of Washington, Seattle; and offices for Google in Mountain View, California.Bill recently won Merit and People’s Choice awards at the 2011 AIA Washington Civic Design Awards and an Honorable Mention at the IIDA INawards for the Federal Way Library and Restoration. His work on the Bellevue Library won AIA National Honor Award, Library of the Year and an AIA Seattle Merit Award. His work on Good Samaritan Children’s Therapy Unit garnered several awards including an Honor Award from AIA Washington Council, Modern Health Care Award and the Grand Award from the Associated General Contractors. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Arts Fund and is an emeritus member of Seattle Architectural Foundations’ Board. His professional affiliations include the US Green Building Council, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and the Urban Land Institute.
