My Philosophy in Pastoral LeadershipThe central theme of my life and ministry has been to learn to depend more and more on Jesus and less and less on self. Prayer and study time with God has been my constant guide and hope. If I am to do anything that has lasting value, it must be birthed by the Spirit. My passion is to see Seventh-day Adventists become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and carry out the distinctive message that drew me to my church and pastoral ministry. I’ve been shaped by life experiences and know the pull towards this calling was not by accident. Each church I have had the privilege to pastor, and the conference work of which I have been privileged to partake, has been a springboard to learn more effective ways to serve others. We live in challenging times and it is important for God’s church to be focused and led with purpose to accomplish His mission. My work as a pastor is to first win church member’s trust and respect by coming alongside of them, nurturing, encouraging, and discipling them to Jesus. It is important for the church family to know they are loved by God and their pastor. Communicating with clarity and simplicity is vital in order to lead and serve well today. Well thought-out plans with church leaders’ buy-in is crucial to success.
