  • Lau Technologies
    System Network Administrator
    Lau Technologies Jan 1990 - Aug 2000
I managed the Novel and Windows NT server environment along with the ATT PBX. This was a great starting point in my career where MS Windows was just evolving and so was the network technology. The company slowly grew from a basic Novel IPX to a Windows NT TCP/IP network and deployed Windows 3.11 PCs to many new to PC users. It was a challenge to get many of the users on board with this “new” technology at the time. Over the years we went to Windows 95,98, NT3.51, NT4, 2000. There were many software changes from DOS based Lotus123 to MS Office 3.0, 4.0 95,97 and many other. The PC technology was fast paced, and PC went from Intel 386 to Pentium III. All in all, it was a great experience to be there from the ground up. This being a small company, my role demanded I be involved with every aspect of the network switches/wiring, PC deployment/maintenance and telephony technology. I learned a lot, quickly. Much of this experience has served me well over the years.
