Responsible for the restart of the 6.9 million square foot manufacturing plant for the launch of a new engine (LGE) and vehicle (Equinox) at one of GM’s largest North American manufacturing facilities. Management responsibilities included:•Managed an annual operating budget of $210 M with 350 salary (managers and engineers) and 1600 hourly employees.•Hired 150 salary employees and over 800 hourly employees. •Managed a $600M capital spending program to add new engine and restart vehicle assembly.•Reduced Operating cost by establishing three 3rd party services contracts which required hiring an additional 150 employees. •Maintained the day to day operations of an existing engine manufacturing operation, sheet metal stamping operation and injection molding operation while reducing Engine CPU (Cost Per Unit) by 8% yr to yr and Stamping CPT (Cost Per Ton) by 22% yr to yr.•Managed 29% increase in the existing engine through-put, •Improved Engine Quality Internal Parts Per Million (IPPM) by 30%.•Maintained an effective working relationship with Local and National UAW.

Responsible for the start-up and implementation of new Powertrain plants and products which included engines, transmissions, and metal castings throughout the world. •Managed a $1 billion annual capital budget. •Managed 650 Managers and Engineers who were located in Europe, South America, Asia and North America. •Established strategies for long term global sourcing of machinery and equipment and managed procurement and start-up of all powertrain programs.•From 1999 to 2011 Started 14 new or retooled plants and launched 24 new products on a global basis.

Responsibility includes the day to day operations and the implementation of new product programs. During this period GMPT and JV Partners built 3 new plants with 2 additional plants which began production in 2010. Installed capacity base has grown to 27% (3.8 million engines and transmissions) of the 2010 global GM powertrain capacity. 2009 estimated manufacturing operating budget approximately $600,000,000 with 6500 employees (managers, engineers, hourly). Served as “Acting” Vice President of Powertrain Operations in Asia Pacific Region reporting to Executive VP of General Motors for 6 months. Appointed to the Shanghai General Motors Wuling (SGMW) Board of Directors in 2008. •Manufacturing costs reductions offset all capital expenditures (approximately $750M) during this period. •Reduced powertrain manufacturing cost CPU (less capital cost) by 31% during this period.•Reduced powertrain manufacturing cost CPU (total cost) by 10% during this period.•Lost Work Day (Safety) rate reduced by 99%.•Vehicle Assembly Plant powertrain pull rate (Quality) reduced by 95%.•Attained 95% build to plan, 12 % point improvement.
