46Th Engineer Battalion, Fort Polk, Louisiana

Led a diverse organization charged with the mentoring, training, budget, sustainment/logistics, and operations for 10 subordinate military engineer units, comprised of 944 personnel across 2 states. Prepared and moved units/detachments worldwide to support customers, completing construction missions in Africa, bridging in Iraq, firefighting in Romania, and road construction along the US-Mexico border.

Operations Group, National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California

As chief of staff, provided liaison to installation and external agencies, managed all civilian and military personnel actions for 800 employees, and supervised the maintenance of over 600 vehicles and 10 rotary wing aircraft. Enabled a successful transition of the organization’s senior leadership through coordinating and synchronizing unit involvement, detailed planning, providing clear communication, and supporting leader integration.

Operations Group, National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California

Trainer for Brigade Executive Officers during monthly training rotations in the austere environment of Fort Irwin, CA. Mentored the brigade staffs on roles and responsibilities, staff organization and functions, and command post operations to prepare over 40,000 personnel for combat missions worldwide.

Bagram, Afghanistan

Deputy Director for a 20,000 employee, multi-echelon, Combined and Joint Task Force, responsible for combat engineer, construction, and contracting support to US and Afghan Security Forces in the Eastern provinces of Afghanistan. Developed the systems and processes for closing/transferring bases and property.

Fort Riley. Kansas

Led efforts to forge a team and then deploy for combat; integrated an engineer section of 13 recently assigned personnel, built the team, trained for the mission set, and then deployed to Afghanistan to assume responsibilities for engineer operations across 15 provinces in Eastern Afghanistan.

1St Engineer Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas

Chief of staff of 597 employee organization providing engineer services to customers across the Army. Rebuilt garrison systems and processes upon the return from Iraq to Fort Riley, including resetting personnel and equipment, reestablishing the maintenance program, ensuring accountability of $78M of equipment, and oversight of a $2.7M annual budget.

Fort Riley/Basra Iraq

Led and supported bilateral, joint, and interagency operational planning teams to produce synchronized, coordinated, and executable plans for the US Southern Division. Led the planning of the stability operations that supported the 2010 parliamentary election and ultimately set conditions for an enduring strategic partnership with Iraq.

Kansas City District

Served as Deputy Director for the Kansas Area Office of the Kansas City District, US Army Corps of Engineers, with 69 personnel, a $175M budget, coordinating construction matters between the District Office and the Kansas military installations. Served as the Contracting Officer’s Representative to provide administration and oversight of 3 projects, totaling $65M, ensuring completion at cost, on schedule, and in accordance with specifications and goals of the customers.

A Company, 1St Engineer Battalion, Fort Riley/ Ramadi Iraq

Recognized as an outstanding company commander and soldier, equally outstanding and reliable during in combat. Distinguish himself on the battlefields of Iraq, fighting from Al Asad, Ramadi, to the volatile town of Fallujah. His company became adept at finding enemy weapons and ammunition caches, depriving the insurgents of needed war material, which ultimately saved numerous lives.

1St Engineer Battalion, Fort Riley

Successfully managed a $1.7M operational budget. Recognized for using initiative to research and procure over $15K of tools at no cost to the battalion. Additionally, saved the battalion an excess of $32K through procurement of excess furnishings from lodging at McConnell Air Force Base.
