About Bill Muller, Cfp®, Aif®, Cdfa®

Growing up in a family of seven children in Philadelphia, I learned early on about the importance of making good financial decisions. Spending less than you make, never borrowing more than you can afford, and saving for the future are all lessons I learned at an early age from watching my parents provide for our family. At a young age I remember taking part of the money I earned from working in high school and college and putting it into my savings account at the local bank. As I went through college, I was naturally drawn to the business courses involving finance and investments. After graduating from LaSalle University, I began my career at Vanguard and continued to learn about financial planning. While working and starting a family of my own, I earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation and went to school at night to earn a Master’s Degree in Financial Services from Saint Joseph’s University.Since 2005 I have been part of the team at Common Cents Planning, an independent financial planning firm in Delaware County Pennsylvania. I focus my practice on helping women divorcees and widows develop strategies to meet their financial goals. Women often face a unique set of financial challenges that require developing a plan that addresses their specific circumstances. I currently hold the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations. I enjoy the challenge of helping people put the pieces of their financial puzzle together and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to help people in a substantial way with the work that I do.
