In the late 1980's I walked away from a two decade corporate life and never looked back! After several years of promotions and relocations for a large corporation, I chased my personal and professional dreams. Personally, my wife and I wanted to get back to family and friends in the Kansas City area where we grew up. Professionally, it was time for me to gamble on myself and start a business, instead of slaving away for somebody else.My journey has seen many twists and turns . . . like most entrepreneurs . . . who begin with a small idea and quickly learn that the whole world really is wide open for opportunity. I am proud of what we have accomplished after risking it all and enduring some lean early years. The sustained success of our tire and auto service stores meant that my sons were able to join me and now they have become owners with me and run the stores. Some new-found free time as well as a chance encounter with an M&A firm owner resulted in using my talents and experiences bridging buyers and sellers on large scale deals. When I'm not working, I find spending time with our 6 children, their spouses, and our 24 grandchildren keeps me young, both at home and at the lake. Hearing my grandfather name: "Daddy-O", stirs great excitement . . . anytime, any place . . . when I am lucky enough to hear it from one of the grand's. My beloved wife Peggy and I thank the good Lord daily for all of our wonderful blessings. Our full-throttle ride through life just keeps getting better.
