Greeley Stampede is recognized as the “World’s Largest 4th of July Rodeo and Western Celebration.” The premier annual event of northern Colorado features a top-ten Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctioned rodeo, major artist concerts, acclaimed art show, carnival, grounds entertainment, trade show, food and beverage sales.Assumed Directorship of Non-Profit organization nearly $1 Million in debt with no cash on hand. Currently the Stampede has $760,000 cash on hand and $340,000 in manageable debt structured to be paid over three years.Negotiated significant expense reductions while preserving attraction of event.Implemented revenue enhancing measures including an admission fee supported by the public and equitable vendor, food and beverage fees.Advocated and implemented concert and rodeo ticketing promotions and social media marketing resulting in 30% increase in paid tickets.Constructed relationships and agreements with advertising media actually gaining more exposure for the event with a 25% reduction in paid investment.Developed genuine partnerships with local, regional and national sponsors earning $479,000 in cash sponsorship for the 2012 event, up over $52,000 from 2011 and up over 21% in two years.Reconnected the region to the Stampede with honest and open yet strategic communication with the news media and with motivating presentations to over twenty five civic, fraternal and governmental organizations annually. Worked extensively on Board Member development to educate the non-profit board on the responsibilities of the board role in coordination with the traditional role and benefits of an event area committee chair.

Began in 1988 as GM managing operations of year round events as City Department Head through 1997. Returned in 2003 in similar position as SMG employee on behalf of Cascade County through March of 2009. Montana ExpoPark features an annual ten-day State Fair, a pari-mutuel horse race meet and provides the largest public assembly facilities in a 150 mile radius.Financial reports comparing 2002 to 2008 include revenue growth of 88% given a corresponding 77% increase in expenses; 78% increase in food and beverage sales, 23% increase in paid Fair attendance, 33% increase in non-fair rentals and 405% increase in cash sponsorships. Significant experience in planning and conducting all requirements to host a major fair, rodeo and racing program including carnival, commercial space, competitive departments, concessions and service providers. Have solid business relationship with talent agents and negotiating deal points for promoted and co-promoted entertainment in arena, grandstand, amphitheater and theater venues.Creative marketing skills. Implemented innovative concert ticket packages quadrupling sales. Orchestrated partnerships that doubled sponsor participation. Proficient in legislative and public affairs. Co-authored draft and lobbied for passage of Montana legislation to provide reasonable over-site for carnival ride safety inspection and gaming devices to match national industry standards. The 280 acre complex perennially hosted major international and regional events. The General Manager serves at the discretion of a 13 member governor appointed board.Financial comparisons of the 1997 to 2002 fairs include a paid gate revenue increase of 16%, concessions gross increase of 21.5% and cash sponsorship increase of 440%. History of grandstand entertainment losses was reversed to profitability. One noteworthy non-fair rental with lead personal involvement was the Family Motor Coach Association International Convention.Facilitated effort to get $28 Million in capital improvements from state legislature.Recruited and reorganized staff into empowered department head positions with responsibility and accountability in areas of strength for synergistic effort. Developed teamwork ethic that still yields productivity and accomplishment.

The Wyoming State Fair is the states’ premier resident reunion. Concurrently served as the administrator for the respected Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum.Between 1980 and 1988, the state general fund appropriation increased from $625,000 to $1,150,000.
