The position provides leadership to the Engineering and Operations Teams which includes construction, engineering, operations and maintenance in the district as required for continued improvement of the systems for stormwater conveyance and flood protection. Specifically, this position:• Assumes a strategic role for the overall management of engineering capital projects and shares duties of implementation• Ensures safe and efficient operations• Develops strategic plans for Asset Management and Facilities Maintenance • Ensures compliance with USACE standards and regulations• Plays a key role providing regional leadership on the FEMA levee reaccreditation process, coordinating with District Engineer to work collaboratively with our strategic partners• Develops an innovative and strategic storm water management plan• Identifies and implements innovative floodplain management solutions• Leads the agency with the development of an emergency preparedness plan and assume command role in emergency response• Manages SCADA in coordination with the District Engineer – Occasionally includes off hours on-call responsibilities• Oversees 24/7 operations of the flood control system
