I provide independent consulting services to clients in the power industry. I have extensive experience in coal, gas, diesel, biomass and nuclear power generation. Services include technical due diligence, asset management review, operation and maintenance deep-dive review, process control review, new construction design review, construction management and commissioning support and shutdown / retirement of older facilities.

• Focused on cost-controls of the financially distressed 1200 MW AES Eastern Energy (AEE) asset.• Assisted in the evaluation of various options for the individual assets of the AEE Portfolio. Options included Seasonal Operation, Long-Term Cold Shutdown, headcount reductions, cost management.• Upon AEE filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on December 30, 2011, worked closely with Bankruptcy counsel and Financial Advisors to work through the chapter 11 processes. Processes included negotiation of Settlement Agreements with various Stakeholders to achieve consensus on suitability and achievability on plans to sell, transfer or other disposition of the various assets.• Managed the process of filing various reports required by the bankruptcy law.

Reports to Vice President of Generation for North America East. Director of a Team of 10 multi-discipline engineers to support 10 generation facilities on the eastern half of the USA. Focusing on Continuous Improvement, Asset Management and Capex Project Management

• Led a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the design review, construction and start-up of the Greenidge Multi-Pollutant Control (MPC) Project.• Project was completed on-budget and on-schedule and met contractual guarantees • The MPC Project was a Clean-coal Project under the Department of Energy Power Plant Improvement Initiative. Total capital costs were $32.8M and were co-funded by the Department of Energy under a Co-operative Agreement (CA). Supported the reporting requirements necessary for fulfill the obligations of the CA

• Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of AES Greenidge, a 161 MW coal-fired power station located in Dresden, New York. • Responsibilities included supervising the operations team, focusing on safety, environmental, commercial and maintenance requirements. • Responsible for tracking and reporting operating statistics to in-house and outside entities• Plant liaison for bidding, scheduling and dispatching of generating units to maximize revenue for the facility

• Led a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the design review, refurbishment, construction and start-up of the 363 MW coal-fired AES Fifoots Point Power Station. • Total investment was ~$100M USD which included a complete refurbishment of the existing boiler, turbine and balance of plant equipment, along with the construction of a new cooling tower, a new 132kV switchyard, a new coal unloading facility and a new flue gas desulphurization system. • Responsibilities included interviewing and hiring the complete operations and maintenance team to operate the business.

• Led a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the completion of construction and start-up of the 630 MW Elsta Gas-fired Cogeneration Facility. The total investment at Elsta was ~$345M.

• Co-led a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the design review, construction and start-up of $377M Combine Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station incorporating two General Electric 9FA gas turbines• Responsibilities included interviewing and hiring the complete operations and maintenance team to operate the business

• Co-led a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the design review, construction, commissioning and start-up of the 180 MW coal-fired power station on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.• Responsibilities included interviewing and hiring the complete operations and maintenance team to operate the business• Managed the Instrumentation and Electrical Department from initial hire through Commercial Operations. The main focus of the department was the successful check-out and commissioning of plant systems.

• Hired as part of the initial AES Thames Operations and Maintenance Team• Participated in the Operator Training class• Worked in the Instrumentation and Controls Department during the commissioning and start-up of the facility. Main focus was on the WDPF Distributed Control System

• Worked in the Instrumentation and Control Department during the commissioning and start-up of the facility. Main focus was on the Westinghouse 7300 Control System, Foxboro Spec 200 Control System and various Reactor Protection Systems.• Participated in cold-functional testing, initial fuel load, hot-functional testing and initial criticality of the 1200 MW Pressurized Water Reactor facility

• Initially assigned to the Rolphton Nuclear Training Center for an extensive nine-month session. Upon completion of the training program, transferred to Pickering Nuclear Generating Station• Worked as a Shift Control Technician focusing on repair and calibration of plant instrumentation and electrical equipment
