He would never walk out of a forest without carrying a piece of trash some inconsiderate person left behind.As years progressed Bill joined and supported many environmental organizations such as The Tree People, Heal the Bay, Environmental Media Awards, SOS (Save Our Space), The Pacific Whale Foundation, Santa Monica Sustainability, Buy Local and Director on the Santa Monica Chamber.Bill's biggest challenge was in his own world, the auto industry. Car pollution was not helping our Carbon Foot Print and most dealerships sold gas guzzlers and we're happy to have the sales. Bill grabbed on to the opportunity to sell a car that would change the industry the Toyota Prius. Bill started selling the Prius before it was fashionable, he bought them from all over the country, because they were just taking up space at other dealerships and the dealers didn't care for them or promote the product. Bill started his own market calling it "Prius World" and that's what happened Toyota Santa Monica became the #1 Prius dealer in the world, earning Bill a special recognition award for selling 10,287 Prius in ten years. Bill is proud to have helped promote the Hybrid withToyota, being involved with many corporate meetings discussing the advancement of environmentally friendly cars. The Prius grew from one model to a family of Prius models. This interest moved through the auto industry and every Brand being sold today offers a Hybrid model. Electric vehicles soon followed and Bill was on top of it being the first dealership in the USA to offer Electric Charging Stations at a dealership free of charge. This along with the Sullivan organization's other accomplishments lead to Bill receiving the California Sustainable Award from Senator Fran Pavely. Also 2014 visionary leadership Alternative Energy award.
