Bill played leading roles in Enviva’s initial public offering, subsequent corporate simplification transaction, and each of the organic and inorganic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, greenfield development projects, and joint ventures, that enabled those strategic transactions. During Bill’s tenure, Enviva’s industry-leading production capacity increased more than 10x through acquisitions and greenfield development projects that he led.In January 2023, Bill stepped down from his executive positions at Enviva pursuant to a succession plan he developed with the company’s board of directors, and his responsibilities leading the company’s corporate development, construction, and legal functions were assumed by two executives who previously reported to him. Bill left Enviva in order to take an international sabbatical during 2023 and early 2024.Bill previously was Senior Vice President & General Counsel of Buckeye Partners, L.P., a publicly traded midstream energy company, and President of Lodi Gas Storage, L.L.C., its natural gas storage subsidiary.
