I spent three decades working in the Vancouver animation industry for about a dozen different companies. In the early days the local cartoon scene was so small that it was necessary to be flexible and take on a variety of different duties depending on the nature and size of the production. So over the years I had every job title from cel painter to animation director. Somewhere in there I even managed to create a short film of my own that was purchased and shown worldwide by MTV. Later, when the process changed from working with pencils and paper to creating with computers, I changed along with it and contributed to several series made with Macromedia (later Adobe) Flash. Chances are you (or your kids) have seen some of my work at some time or another.These days, I'm involved in entrepreneurial activities of the online variety. However, I'm still actively nurturing my animation and graphics skills with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter and After Effects as well as learning to do 3D work with Blender. I'm even finding time to go back to doing some good old drawing on paper.So I have a lot of personal projects on the go, but I still take on freelance jobs from time to time.
