After a couple of years in bridge design, I was based at the Divisional Civil Engineers Office in Manchester for several years before deciding to move to Australia.The career experience in Australia and in New Zealand has been varied and includes• Track construction with Leighton and McConnell Dowell• Track detailed and concept designs for heavy haul railways in WA and SA• Detailed track design for Perth to Mandurah• Rail Design Lead for the Seaford Rail Extension• Overhead layout design and verification for Queensland Rail, New Zealand Rail, Metrail, NSW, Perth and Gold Coast• Structural Asset Management for the Whyalla Steelworks• Safety Rep for Engineering Primary at the steelworks (7 years LTIFR=0)• Safety in Design Perth to Mandurah railway• Marketing and planning rail distribution from WhyallaI have been actively involved in Engineers Australia and the ICE with over 22 years on committees.Current certification for PTS Adelaide to June 2015, ARTC to Oct 2013, RailCorp to July 2014
