As the Workshop Manager I am responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the mechanical workshop. We service and maintain the Isuzu Heavy Vehicles, Nissan, KIA, Massey Ferguson and Hyundai excavators. I am responsible for ensuring we reach our budgeted targets and customer relations, ensuring we meet and exceed their expectations. As an Expat and Workshop Manager I am responsible for the quality of the work carried out and ensuring incoming and outgoing inspection are conducted to ensure customer satisfaction. I have also worked with the local staff to try and improve the work practices and maintain a safe working environment.

As Northern Regional Planner for Essential Energy in Tamworth. I was responsible for the planning of routine and non-routine maintenance associated with heavy plant such as Cranes, borers, EWPs and forklifts etc. and ensure all engineering requirements are in accordance with the associated Australia design standard. I also, manage the schedule maintenance forecast for up to ten years as required for review of future upcoming major rebuilds and maintenance events and replacement of crane borers and EWP’s. I ensure that future maintenance requirements are coordinated with other support departments contractors including tooling, materials, quality control, engineering and line maintenance.

I am currently the Fixed Operations Manager at Tamworth City Prestige where I am responsible for the management and co-ordination of After Sales and Service functions of the facility. This includes management of the workshop, spare parts, Opposite Lock sales and upfit and all pre-delivery functions for the Sales department.The business currently has the franchises for Audi, Peugeot, Citroen, Suzuki, Foton and RAM which includes all after sales service and support. I monitored and maintained all aspects of OHS&E requirements of the Service Department driving a strong safety culture and promoted a solid customer focus, ensuring all administrative processes were followed. It was also an integral part of my position to ensure the departments morale was at its highest achievable level encouraging the teams’ capability while fostering a harmonious team environment. The product predominately supported by the branch was in High Horse Power (19L and greater) mining applications, from a variety of OEM’s such as Liehberr, Komatsu, Hitachi and Bucyrus (CAT). In this role I was involved in managing the Field Service Operation of over 30 Technicians, including the after hours operation. I successfully negotiated with a variety of mines to have full time technical labour support positioned on site. The branch workshop facility rebuilt up to 60-70 Certified Support Bank Engines annually. The branch had a good base of automotive customers and re-built and repaired many high horse power engines for various external mining and internal customers. I was responsible for meeting the business plan on a monthly basis and setting and implementing strategies to try and continually improve our business. I actively managed the department expenses and liaised with customers to promote our service facility and clear up any customer complaints and issues.

I compiled an accurate scope of works, detailing the extent of repairs required and performed a cost analysis to manage all expenditures. I was also involved in major losses in the mining industry, assisting members of the major loss team, and worked closely with consulting engineering companies.I assessed damage sustained to earth moving equipment, heavy transport vehicles, marine vessels, plant equipment and air-conditioning plant/units. I was also responsible for the assessment and repairs to the majority of buses servicing the metropolitan area of Adelaide. I was responsible for ensuring the repair costs were fair and reasonable, confirming the scope of works required and closely monitoring repair times. I was also utilised by the majority of the bus companies to perform recovery of debts, pertaining to motor vehicle accidents directly from the third party's and/or their insurers. It was essential in this role to have a strong customer focus and address concerns immediately, ensuring all parities understood their role and objectives.
