Automation, Manufacturing & Additive Engineering Manager
CurrentManage automation department (automated assembly and test equipment) with projects from design though manufacturing and integration. Lead/mentor engineers to achieve departmental goals. Initiates, implements and manages the machine automation program based on industry best practices. Responsible for developing appropriate solutions to satisfy the needs of internal customers in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, and within budget and schedule commitments. Develop and manage project scopes for process control systems and building automation systems. Assist with hiring qualified automation engineering personnel. Conducts employee performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of all automation engineering staff. Ensures city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the engineering department are met at all times. Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety, healthy and environmental policies and procedures for the automation department. Ensures proper documentation and solutions for automation capabilities. Participate in company/team wide process improvement initiatives. Evaluate automation opportunities within key product areas and develop product automation roadmap and strategies. Research, cost justifies and negotiates the purchase of automation manufacturing machinery and equipment. Ensures that automation enigneers are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so the automation program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.Work in conjunction with all functional groups to identify potential future improvements to the overall process, requirements gathering and documentation.
