As Training Officer I organized and lead training events for the department, kept training records and submitted trainig hours for our Station to the Georgia Public Training Center. I also attended courses at the Georgia Public Training Center Fire Academy to better myself in my role as training officer.

I served as Fire Captain from 1993 to 1997. Duties included but not limited to leading fire suppression teams in Residential, Commercial, Vehical, and Wildland fires, as well as Rescue Operations and filling out incident reports. Also assisted with development of Department Standard Operating Proceedures.

I joined Shady Dale Volunteer Fire Dept. / Jasper County Station 2 in October and gained Basic Firefighter Certification (now known as in Febuary of 1992 through an Ajunct Instructor for the Georgia Public Saftey Traing Center, Georgia Fire Academy. By Febuary of 1994 I was promotrd to Captian and in March of 1994 I was also made Training Officer and remained in those positions until I left the department in 1997.
