System Engineer
CurrentSystem Engineer for Cloud One Data Services supporting the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton OH. Responsibilities include coordinating plans and prototypes for Data Warehouses, Re-engineering efforts, Object Oriented and Client server technologies. Part of a department that has transferred to Agile methodology (from Waterfall) utilizing JIRA and associated tools. Review technical statements of work, evaluate contractor proposals based on technical adequacy, and make appropriate recommendations. Monitor contracted work by reviewing approaches and techniques, and advising contractors of the course of action for overcoming problems. Supports development and and/or improvements of existing business intelligence software capabilities. Applies systems engineering principles and disciplines to the development process. Follows technical processes, policies and verifies use of standard tools to deliver mission capabilities as promised for Cloud One Data Services customers. Works independently, and with Data Services peers and Leidos project leads, customers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to accomplish accurate, thorough and timely engineering assessments of assigned programs. Identifies resolves and/or prevents technical issues/risks. Support DS project leads in their weekly project meetings, technical interchange meetings and major milestone technical reviews. Monitors the progress and issues concerning the impending Air Force wide Standard Desk Top and Windows Operating System implementation as it pertains to the impact on Cloud One Data Services customers.
