With over two decades of experience across local, state, and federal government sectors, I am a seasoned expert in policy development, government relations, criminal justice, and strategic advisory roles. Starting my career in law enforcement after graduating from the University of Virginia, I honed my skills in advanced investigations, specializing in human trafficking, missing and exploited children, and organized transnational crimes. As a FEMA-certified ICS commander, my expertise extends to safety and security, civil disturbance management, and mass-casualty response.My legislative and executive journey has led me to work closely with lawmakers across the spectrum to draft impactful legislation and guide appropriations priorities. I have had the honor of testifying before prestigious bodies such as the Virginia state legislature, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Senate, reflecting my bipartisan respect and policy expertise, as well as internationally at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the governments of the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.Beyond governmental roles, my leadership in founding a successful nonprofit organization with an international footprint underscores my commitment to societal improvement and organizational excellence. My tenure as Acting Director and Principal Deputy Director at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime allowed me to oversee substantial federal grant programs, further solidifying my capability in managing complex issues and aligning human trafficking programs across diverse agencies.An author with a passion for making a difference, I've been recognized for my contributions with a Presidential Medal for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Human Trafficking, among other accolades. My role as an adjunct professor enriches my mission to share knowledge and inspire future generations.
