The work I do to support the Disability functions of the university consist of: • Liaising with the UEB sponsor for disability. • Supporting the ‘Disability and Carers Staff Network’, although, we are trying to re-energise and relaunch the group. • Monitor the universities ‘Disability Confident’ accreditation and redevelop the action plan. Just to remind colleagues that the Disability Confident is a government scheme designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions, and it had replaced the previous ‘Two Ticks Positive About Disabled People’ scheme.
