MakeWay's vision and goal is to save lives, reduce accidents and protect property on our roadways and in our communities using mobile technology to alert driver's of an approaching or intersecting emergency vehicle (Police, Fire, EMS and other emergency vehicles) allowing driver's in the path to MakeWay for these emergency vehicles thus reducing the negative impacts that result from these accidents.Vehicles today do a great job of minimizing road noise and other sounds outside of the vehicle, but unfortunately that includes the sirens on emergency vehicles not being heard until it is often too late to avoid an accident. MakeWay has the solution to alert driver's using mobile technology and our patented technology that creates an awareness of the near presence of an emergency vehicle thereby reducing the potential for an accident. When First Responders are involved in a motor vehicle accident lives are at risk for those in the vehicles involved and those that are at the other end of the call they are responding to such as a fire, accident, crime, critical health issue or any of the thousands of reasons first responders are dispatched everyday. I was promoted to Management effective on December 1, 198. Managed a team of Installation and Repair Field Technicians. Responsible for assigning, dispatching and routing installation technicians to cover workload and working with maintenance centers to cover trouble load in my wire centers. I was responsible for the training, safety and performance of my team in areas of production, quality, safety and customer service. Handled all customer service issues and executive complaints for my assigned exchanges/wire centers. I was responsible for meeting all OSHA and Corporate Safety requirements ranging from hazardous materials to aerial work to driving safety. I was the District Safety Chairman and led a team that conducted two of the largest and most successful Work and Family Safety events at AT&T/SBC. My teams led the entire company in Sales of additional lines and equipment in 1989, 1990 and 1991.

Moved to a new technician title that included previous installation, exchange repair and now cable repair responsibilities. I became the subject matter expert on Noise Mitigation and Power System Interference problems in the St. Louis Area. I attended the University of Wisconsin Telecommunications courses that included system engineering, design and mitigation courses. In this role I resolved many chronic noise issues including one that earned me the highest honor awarded by SBC the Rider Award for developing a noise mitigation device using a series of capacitors and inductors to filter a local radio station that had caused chronic issues for multiple customers - this device eliminated the problems without impeding the level of voice quality for the customer.
