Management responsibilities included:• Identification and recruitment of international cutting edge remote sensing technology and development of strategic business partners to bring to market emerging technologies,• Identification of Federal and State opportunities and management of proposals in response to the RFPs,• Interface with venture capital groups to expand the company while generating revenue, • Recruitment and hiring of qualified technical personnel to operate sensors, process massive quantities of data and develop commercial products.Significant Results• The company increased from 9 employees at the inception of the Remote Sensing Division to over 200 personnel at the completion of service at 3Di,• Revenue generation from data collection services that included long term contracts with NASA, USDA, NOAA and commercial agricultural firms such as Monsanto and DuPont,• Participated in 6 major company acquisitions in the remote sensing vertical market.

CKC Corporation, President. United States and CaribbeanFounded an aquaculture company in the US that operated in the Dominican Republic. The firm leveraged research results from an international R&D program with the Smithsonian Institution to form a business that commercialized an emerging technology of sea farming and utilized marine algae as a renewable resource.

Marine Systems Lab (MSL) is collaboration between Federal and private funding in Smithsonian’s Museum of Natural History. Applied research in the commercial uses of cultured marine algae led to the establishment of a development program in the Caribbean between USAID’s Office of Science and Technology and MSL. Additionally, the research staff operated as the crew on the Research Vessel MARSYS Resolute and the amphibious HU-16 support aircraft. Over 20 research papers were published during my tenure at the lab, including economic impact studies of mariculture on existing fisheries for the Maine lobster, Blue Mussel and the Caribbean King Crab. Significant Results • Co-author and Program Director of a $2.1 million research grant for development of mariculture and aquaculture programs from Maine throughout the Caribbean,• Design and construction of the algae powered Coast of Maine and Caribbean Reef exhibits in Natural History,• Published more than 20 scientific papers and articles from the research.

Directed, funded, and participated in a 2 year research program to supplement coral reef habitat in areas of the Philippines that had suffered significant reef damage. This included field research, socio-economic studies on reef replacement and establishment of the first Protected Marine Area (Sumilon Island) in the country.
