I have spent most of my various careers in an effort to improve efficiency, whether that was in the construction industry, sailing under a vast array of offshore conditions, or in the logistics and supply chain industries. As a highly motivated former U.S. Marine, I founded my first company, a construction company at age 23. A couple of years later, my brother and I started our concrete contracting business. After 15 years in construction, I continued my sailing pasttime professionally, setting speed records with a variety of crews. In the early '90's I combined my passion for sailing with my deep interest in business by co-founding one of the first sports and special events focused weather consulting businesses, Weather Window, selling my interest in the business 3 years later. In early 2012 I, along with John Lacey, Kurt Brown and Huw Thomas, founded Qv21, a logistics software company, dedicated to adding logistics efficiency to industries such as Oil & Gas, waste management, construction material handing, mining and other industries. As Chief Operating Officer of that company, I worked closely with Mr. Lacey (President & Head of Business Development) and Kurt Brown (Head of Sales) as well as Huw Thomas (CEO & Software Development). Together, we built the company, adding staff and growing the annual recurring revenue to well over $3 million within 3 years.
