Executive ProducerHomework Express Aug 2005 - Jun 2013Homework Express was a show aimed toward middle schoolers. It helped them with math homework. Stripped five days a week, It was broadcast live twice a week with replays 3 days/ week to the million households network of the NE Ohio Time/Warner Cable service area. Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron/Canton were the major markets. There were several student line producers and directors working for our show and the crew was made up entirely of YSU tcom studies students who worked for pay on this show. This was a professional program, not student media. In 9 years we were nominated for 3 regional Emmy Awards and we were recognized for excellence by the Broadcast Educators Association. It is, sadly, off the air due to loss of our distribution network and our funding sources. I oversaw and supervised the line producers and trained the crew on all of the production positions. I worked with the teachers and professional talent who appeared on our show. I designed the lighting, wrote and recorded the theme music and incidental music cues, designed the graphics packages, booked guests, conceived segments, shot and edited field pieces and supervised others in similar endeavors. Post produced shows for air on additional outlets and produced and edited highlight packages and sales presentations for the program.
