In this role, I'm able to create a safe container for our youth where they can transition to young adults and transition from High School to their next adventure. I'm incredibly proud of the commitment our youth make to each other and the world. Being a teenager isn't easy for most people, but I've had the privilege of witnessing this incredible transformation from youth to young adults. I feel lucky that I get to be part of this witnessing. I also enjoy supporting our youth as they take on new and challenging leadership roles as they prepare for their future. Unlike most religious education classes, Senior Seminar (grades 10 - 12) is about empowering youth to find their voice and speak their truth. As they step into powerful leadership roles, I'm constantly impressed with the creative solutions and the many artistic contributions that are revealed as a result. Our youth show us what's possible and lead in all sorts of fascinating and beautiful ways. As they step into the best version of themselves, I am encouraged to be my best self. This is a volunteer position, and yet the more I give, the more I receive in return. I don't contribute for that reason, it's just part of the universal law of reciprocity. It's an honor and privilege to serve. -
