As a Mudlogger, down-hole events were monitored in real time as a means of well control and quality. Incoming data was evaluated to identify indications of abnormal pressures, borehole instability, or hazardous events such as kicks. Active communication between the mudloggers, the drill team, and the client was critical to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Formation cuttings were analyzed to construct a well log and provide an independent well characterization. Gas and data acquisition equipment was maintained and repaired as necessary. As a Wellsite Geologist there was routine collaboration with both the onshore and offshore drilling and wells teams to ensure that the well plan was carried out to desired specifications and was compliant with all CNLOPB regulations. Assisted with well planning, target definition, and the geological sampling plan. Supervised the mudlogging team to ensure quality and accuracy of reports and data. Verified geological descriptions and finalized the well log for submission to the client. Conferred with the client to discuss encountered formations, oil shows, plans, and any issues that may have arisen.

Tasked with supervising reverse circulation (RC) drilling operations. Responsibilities on site included drill team co-ordination, drill hole sequencing, rig alignments to planned azimuth and dips, RC sampling monitoring, preparing and ensuring quality control of samples, logging geological returns, conducting downhole surveys, and ensuring a consistently safe and efficient work environment.

Reported to the local base on the work situation, maintained equipment, and discussed the logistics of the oil field.

Worked with the Mudlogging Unit during offshore drilling operations. Performed and supervised the collection of cuttings samples from designated lag depths and at the proper intervals for evaluation as per the clients well plan. Prepared geologic cuttings samples for Wellsite Geologists and Logging Analysts, and assisted Logging Analyst in sample descriptions. Processed and prepared bulk cuttings samples for shipment to onshore lab.

Dispatched with commercial and residential deliveries throughout the city and surrounding areas. Accountable for upholding perfect service standards and meeting time commits on a daily basis. Three consecutive summer employment terms. Primary responsibilities included core logging, sampling and storage, data entry and analysis, cross-section drafting, and upholding safe work routines.
