Bill Dean is a financial, research park and healthcare administrator/executive with more than three decades of leadership and management experience in developing visionary strategies, financial plans, and direction for growth. His work has included roles in the healthcare business, university research parks, biotechnology advancements and financial industry. Responsibilities in those organizations were wide-ranging, including business growth and profitability; strategic planning; budgeting; regulatory compliance; managing change; working with boards; customer satisfaction results; structure organization; marketing; recruiting and human resource management. As a science park executive during the intersection of science and business, Dean retired as Executive Director of Auburn Research and Technology Foundation, IP Exchange and Office of External Engagement and Support, Auburn University. He served as Director of Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, Al and President of the Piedmont Triad Research Park (Innovation Quarter) in Winston-Salem, NC. In these roles, he created an entrepreneurial culture and innovative environment that enabled technology transfer and commercialization to drive new business growth. He is an influencer that interacts effectively with diverse groups to facilitate and lead successful business outcomes. As healthcare administrator, Bill served as CEO for Pathologists Diagnostic Services, (PDL) in Winston-Salem, NC; where he was responsible for lab operations, personnel, business services, regulatory compliance and financial administration. Dean has demonstrated the ability to lead change and handle complex issues in changing regulatory environments. He has strong organizational skills to plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the fiscal function of goals, strategies and policies to deliver high quality, cost effective, and customer focused healthcare.
