I got started in marketing at Clemson when I took some contract work doing SEO analysis for a small marketing company. I became fascinated by the growing industry of marketing on the web. That early SEO work transitioned into using my first love, writing, to drive both search and social media traffic to company blogs and articles. My natural inclinations toward writing and using content as marketing allowed me to stay ahead of the game as the industry moved from tricks like SEO-rich writing and link-farming to real, value-driven content marketing. I have since branched out from writing only as marketing to any type of writing or editing a client might need. This can be anything from lower-level work like how to best formulate a survey question to editing or even composing entire prospecti or pitch decks.More than a decade of experience, as well as my education, helps me to write in clear, concise, compelling prose. I can also edit the work of less experienced or overly enthusiastic writers for these qualities. I make a point to do the research on any new industry I’m writing for to learn the particulars (jargon, style, etc) that make for the most effective copy in that industry.
