I love doing useful things with technology. Over the years I've been in many roles: mainframe operator, DBA, web developer, software engineer, architect, team lead, manager, project manager, founder, and executive. I've worked at big firms and small enterprises, in both the commercial and public sectors. I've seen enough to know what I enjoy and where I can thrive. I still get pleasure from solving complex problems with technology, and I get excited about the possibilities as technology continues to evolve. I guess my father laid the seeds for my career when he brought home an IBM PC in the early 80's. Looking back, I'm embarrassed to admit how long it took me to figure out my career direction. I had so much fun playing with early home computers. It was so obvious. Eventually I got there.When I'm not in front of a computer screen, I'm spending time with family (4 kids) and friends, or working at one of a few hobbies: boating, snowboarding, fishing, biking, playing guitar, hiking, walking with my dog Oliver or traveling.A few specific areas where I've invested time and effort are: Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Dashboard Design, Software Development, IT Consulting Services, Software Architecture, Agile/Scrum Development, Software Release Management, CI/CD, Enterprise Storage & Data Management, IT Resource Management, Services Methodology, Services Portfolio Development, Mobile Applications, and Grid Computing.
